Is JoinBeUs an app or a website?
Both. The learning experience is a mobile app, on iPhone and Android. This site is the way in.
How is it different from Duolingo, Babbel, Memrise?
Those are built for streaks and gamification. JoinBeUs is built for the day you actually walk into a bakery in a country you have just moved to. Different goal, different product.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Once a dialogue is downloaded, you can listen, speak, and be scored offline. We sync progress when you reconnect.
Which languages are available?
Eight: Portuguese (European), French, Spanish, German, English, Dutch, Mandarin, Arabic. The list is shaped by where demand is moving — not by app-store search volume.
How much does it cost?
You can start with a free trial. After it ends, continued access needs a JoinBeUs Premium subscription — the price is shown in the App Store or Google Play before you pay. Schools and organisations are billed separately.
How do I get in?
Install JoinBeUs from the App Store or Google Play — or open the download page on your phone. There's nothing to sign up for first.
Can my school or university use this?
Yes. We have institutional pricing per-seat, with admin tooling and cohort analytics. Book a demo.
What do you do with my voice recordings?
By default, recordings stay on-device. We upload only briefly to score pronunciation, then delete within 30 days. You can opt in to research; you can opt out at any time.
Will you sell my email?
No. Read our privacy policy — it is short and plain-spoken.
Where is the data stored?
Servers in the European Union. Encrypted at rest and in transit.
